    Redwood or hardwood timber doors

All our products are manufactured using FSC® 100% engineered laminated timber. We offer both redwood (Scots Pine) and hardwood (Dark Red Meranti) – both with the same extensive warranty. When comparing the two, our hardwood has a more of an open grain structure meaning it gives more of a textured finish, particularly when stained.

    Timber Bi-fold Door FAQ's

Can the frame be supplied in parts for site assembly?

We can supply the folding door frame for site assembly should you need but we can transport pre-assembled frames with loose door leaves up to a maximum size of 9 metres wide and 2.5 metres high, and would always recommend doing so.

Can you deliver the door leaves loose as I'm worried about the weight?

Yes, all our bi-fold doors with more than two door leaves are supplied loose of the frame with all fittings securely strapped to the frame on delivery.

Can I have an inward opening bi-fold door?

We do not currently offer an opening-in system on our folding doors.

Which part of the frame carries the load?

Our folding doors are top hung meaning the head carries the load, so structural support needs to be considered. Any structural support must be calculated by a structural engineer based on the weight of the door. The weight of the doors can be found in our quotations and sales confirmations.

    Can I have a fanlight above a bi-folding door?

You can, but as our folding doors are top hung, there will need to be sufficient structural support provided between the folding door frame and the fanlight.
