Georgian style embraces the reign of four Georges who reigned in continuous succession from 1714 to 1830. The style came about as a reaction to the popular Baroque style that George 1st much disliked. Georgian style is strongly influenced by Rococo, Gothic, French and Oriental art and designs. Achieving this certain elegant style through a new build home is a skill that Benjamin Allen Bespoke Homes have mastered with great style and grace. This spectacular new home takes on board the impressively grand symmetry of the Georgian period of architecture yet is designed to perfection for contemporary living.

Considered the era of elegance, Georgian design often featured sliding sash windows which more often than not featured multi pane bar patterns with small glazing panes as during this time larger panes of glass were too expensive to make. During the late Georgian era this had advanced to a six over six design followed by a two over two pattern with larger glazing panes, which was made possible due to advances in glass manufacturing technologies. This beautiful new build home was designed with large openings and a six over six design to allow for a grand Georgian façade yet making use of natural light to provide a light and airy elegant interior.

Benjamin Allen are renowned for combining the best of contemporary building disciplines with the sense of grandeur and proportion which is key to Georgian architecture. Houses of the period follow strict rules in terms of size and position of windows and doors, roof pitches and so on. To achieve this specific style Benjamin Allen looked no further than Bereco, and working with Parker Building Supplies who have a long established relationship with Bereco, the design vision was released.

Wooden sliding sash spiral balance windows, flush french doors, and entrance doors from our Contemporary Range were the perfect choice for ensuring a traditional style yet with a modern twist. Each elegant sliding sash window was painted in RAL 9001 Cream which provides warmth and perfectly offsets the red brickwork finish. The 16mm Georgian bar design ensures maximum daylight whilst creating perfect symmetry.

To achieve the Georgian style, known to feature uncluttered, elegant facades and usually panelled, painted front doors, the grand front entrance door combination from the Bereco Contemporary Range features symmetrical raised panels and elegant Georgian bar pattern. Striking Brass ironmongery accents further accentuate this opulent style. View our pinterest board for metal accent ideas. Classical motifs, columns, and other features of Roman architecture were fashionable at the time, as were roofs with wide overhangs and shallow pitches on Palladian-style homes – a Georgian style inspired by 16th century Italian architect Andrea Palladio. To complement this style, the spacious living room features exceptionally tall curved head timber french doors which ooze grandeur and overlook the garden space which includes a swimming pool.

This beautiful new build home is an example of how you can achieve Georgian style with modern materials and, at the same time, contemporary living.
